WHAT WE DO & WHY WE DO IT

About Rule 62

Welcome to the rule 62 rendezvous

WE ARE NOT A GLUM LOT

In May of 1935 Bill Wilson, a “rum hound” stock broker from New York met with an alcoholic doctor in Akron Ohio for the sake of staying sober and with hopes of helping the doctor to achieve sobriety. As a result of this meeting, Dr. Bob Smith would take his last drink on June 10th, 1935, a declaration of independence, freedom from alcoholism, the birth of Alcoholics Anonymous – Bill and Bob the co-founding fathers of AA would begin a chain reaction that would change the lives of millions of alcoholics to follow.

Come join us in Bismarck, North Dakota for the 5th Annual Rule 62 Rendezvous, an intimate weekend long event, in the unique “Woodstock of AA” format. Yes it may be super cold outside but inside the crowd at Rule 62 will be warm, friendly and fun….for we are not a glum lot, even in January.

The Program of Action developed by Bill and Bob, our Traditions and the rich History of AA, will be presented by some of the greatest orators of AA from around the world. Each speaker will share specifically on a step, their decades of experience, strength and hope, passing on experientially and the freedom they have found from alcoholic torture through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous.

This is an experience you will not want to miss.
Sincerely
Rule 62 Rendezvous Committee.

The A.A. Woodstock of N.D.
Rule 62 Rendezvous is a unique AA conference, with one primary purpose  to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
It is an occasion to share the fellowship and to carry the message of AA.
Woodstock is the term of art for an emerging convention format where speakers share in-depth about their experience with a particular step in the twelve-step process.

The focus of Rule 62 is the twelve step recovery process and the principles of the twelve traditions necessary to maintain this gift. Through the shared experience of some of our fellowships best communicators, they relate their stories to a specific step or tradition so as to broaden the experience of all that attend, themselves included.

It's a workshop on a grand scale, in an unusual venue with a laser like focus on our recovery program. It is experience, strength, hope and fun.

All Rule 62 monies generated from the registration fees will be used to pay the expenses of the conference.

After all expenses have been paid any remaining funds will be used to build a prudent reserve of 1 year’s expenses, after which any excess money will be donated to AA (GSO, Area & District).

We observe all AA's principles and Traditions. We hope to see you all there
Rule 62 Rendezvous Committee.
